Joining the group in 1998 Inspired by the heavy Rock riffs and drums of Metallica, Nirvana,
Papa Roach, Deftones and Korn, Red Nobles was the bassist for Stockton California's hardcore band
Crypt Orchid.
In 2012 after changing his hard partying ways and re-dedicating his life to Jesus Christ, feeling worn down by years of Touring with the group decided he wanted to branch out and try something new.

The story of This Fire Burns really began as an outlet for Red's recovery from Alcohol and substance abuse starting at friendly late night Jam's in the garage after a weekly Bible study support group.

The members of TFB eventually talked about becoming a real live band after finishing a few song idea's with a laptop computer and soon began booking and playing a few underground shows in the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Southern California.
After a few Jam's and a few lineup changes in 2015, TFB finally recorded their first demo in early 2017 in Seattle with new Drummer Glen Shackley, and issued it to fans via mailing list at local shows as a self released EP.
While playing shows around California, and later West Coast Washington and Oregon, TFB finished up the Summer of 2018 with an appearance at the JoshuaFest Christian festival in Quincy California.
Excited about such a huge show the band used the big stage opportunity as a CD release date after running out of physical copies of the self released Demo CD on the road. With the overwhelming request for the self-released Disc becoming apparent, TFB decided to put the repackaged demo up online adding new songs, behind the scenes video content for their mailing list subscribers, and live-streaming a few warm up shows on their website as a teaser for the upcoming what would become Broken Soul Tour in 2019.

Beginning to evolve into a more progressive new hard rock sound that they felt the Hard Rock fans would be into, (Guitarist, backing Vocalist and sometimes Bassist) Red Nobles and vocalist Jason Costa, began hiring musicians and booking Gig's around North Hollywood CA and the greater Los Angeles area.
Red, hoping to be a positive light for his friends and peers in the hard rock community, felt the calling was coming from God to reach out onstage and off to share his story of faith and recovery and plug fans into church online.

After recruiting bassist Storm Godsil, (Upshift)
This Fire Burns began a regional Tour combined with different speaking events at more traditional Rock venues including the World Famous Whisky a Go Go, as well as other clubs and churches, sharing their story of hope and recovery.
This Fire Burns is rounded out by 2 Touring Guitarist’s Stephen Palau and (SVH) Scott Von Heldt.
After Drummer Glen Shackley was diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis, TFB is currently seeking a Touring Drummer until Glen can return to the Stage.
The band has always been known for their Powerful lyrics, and driving choruses, combined with an energy packed live show.

If you play the Drums and think you are a good fit, please take a listen to their Spotify, and email the band at ThisFireBurnsMusic@gmail.com Just send TFB a video of yourself playing along to the song of your choice, If they like what they see and hear, you'll receive an invitation for a live audition from the band!
